Apple Tart

I couldn't find my usual go-to organic pie crust from the grocery store so I had to whip up my own! For this crust in particular I used almond flour and coconut sugar, making this crust the perfect gluten-free and low-carb crust for a more health conscious option for the holidays.

The ingredients for this apple tart pie crust include:

  • 2 1/2 cups of almond flour
  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 tsp himalayan sea salt
  • 1/4 cup grass-fed butter
  • 1 large egg

The ingredients for the apple filling include:

  • 3 Granny Smith apples
  • 2 tbsp organic apricot jam
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp grass-fed butter

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. Line the bottom of a pie pan with parchment paper
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the almond flour, coconut sugar and sea salt
  4. Stir in the melted butter and egg until the dough is dry and crumbly
  5. Make sure there's no more leftover almond flour
  6. Press the dough into the bottom of the pan
  7. Put this off to the side and prepare your apples
  8. Core the apples and cut into sections, then slice them into 1/8 an inch each
  9. Arrange the apples how you'd like in the crust-covered pie
  10. Cut 2 tbsp of grass-fed butter into cubes and place all over apples
  11. Top with coconut sugar
  12. Bake for 40 minutes
  13. Get the apricot jam place in the microwave for 30 seconds
  14. Take the jam and spread evenly onto apple tart

Get dat belly full, son.
